The Broad Way

Godless and loveless
A world without Christ guiding us we are
Helpless and hopeless
We turned from the light and chose to love
Darkness and wretchedness
Now look at the mess we made
Though You gave Paradise to us
Yet we ruined everything

What vain designs of the wicked in fruitless lusting
Blessings that they will never find
Blown away and scattered, wasted hopes rendered like dust
Every gain is chaff lost before the storm
Crooked ways of destruction May look appealing
Unto wailing they will meet their end
So where do we stand?

God knows and approves the way the righteous go
But the wicked shall meet a dreadful overthrow

Sinners in judgement they shall not stand
Among the sons of saving grace
When Jesus the Master at His right hand
Appoints His saints a glorious place
His heart approves of the righteous well
His eye beholds the path they tread
But down into the gates of hell
The broad way, the broad way

Though the culture sinks in reprobation
We are called to stand on our firm foundation
Shun the scoffer’s seat, persist in righteousness
Flee with your life from them, walk on in holiness
Though some who swear by His name May worship sin and stray
Be not like them, but set Christ before you day by day

Let Christ be your unchanging guide
Through every trial, by His side
The narrow path to ever life

I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you today that I have set before you life and death
Blessing and cursing
Therefore, choose life, so that you and your descendants may live

There seems a way that’s right to man
But in the end it leads to death
So enter by the narrow gate
Do this before it is too late

Every knee will bow before the King
