Así viene un pueblo numeroso y poderosoSo there comes a people numerous and mighty
Un fuego devora delante de ellos, y detrás de ellos arde una llamaA fire devours before them, and behind them a flame burns
Nadie ha escapado de los estragos de las hordas devoradorasNo one has escaped the ravages of the devouring hordes

Su aspecto es como el de caballos; y como jinetes, así correránThe appearance of them is as the appearance of horses; and as horsemen, so shall they run
Como el ruido de carros en la cima de las montañas saltaránLike the noise of chariots on the tops of mountains shall they leap
Como el estruendo de una llama de fuego que devora la paja, como un pueblo fuerte dispuesto en batallaLike the noise of a flame of fire that devoureth the stubble, as a strong people set in battle array

Ante ellos el pueblo estará muy afligido: Todos los rostros se pondrán negrosBefore their face the people shall be much pained: All faces shall gather blackness
Correrán como valientes; subirán la muralla como hombres de guerraThey shall run like mighty men; they shall climb the wall like men of war
Y marcharán cada uno por su camino, y no romperán sus filasAnd they shall march every one on his ways, and they shall not break their ranks
Nadie empujará a otro; caminarán cada uno en su sendaNeither shall one thrust another; they shall walk every one in his path
Y cuando caigan sobre la espada, no serán heridosAnd when they fall upon the sword, they shall not be wounded

Correrán de un lado a otro en la ciudad; correrán sobre la murallaThey shall run to and fro in the city; they shall run upon the wall
Subirán a las casas; entrarán por las ventanas como un ladrónThey shall climb up upon the houses; they shall enter in at the windows like a thief

La tierra temblará ante ellos; los cielos temblaránThe earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble
El Sol y la Luna se oscurecerán, y las estrellas retirarán su brilloThe Sun and the Moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining

Y el Señor pronunciará su voz delante de su ejército: Porque su campamento es muy grandeAnd the Lord shall utter his voice before his army: For his camp is very great
Porque es fuerte el que ejecuta su palabraFor he is strong that executeth his word
Porque el día del Señor es grande y muy terrible; ¿y quién podrá soportarlo?For the day of the Lord is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?
