i see a tear in the lion's eye
i see a king who's waiting to die
not because he's old
he's stuck inside a steel jungle
he's climbing up to the highest rock
don't matter why
he's got to be on the top
baskin' in the sun
dreamin' of a wild country
he's been dreamin's so long
for his freedom gone

something in that lion's eye
a sort of silent cry
makes me wonder
domething in that lion's eye
he'd rather fight then die

there was a time when he had to fight
a time to kill just to stay alive
he'd run with the wind
blowin' thru his fur collar

and all he's got is a stone cold home
