How can you blame me, it isn't my fault
My daddy was quick with his boot
My mother was distant and didn't show love
Except to the bottle and tube

My teachers were never concerned
My pastor was never attuned to the flock
Except to the wallets and purses

So maybe I drink just a little too much
It helps me forget what I feel
And no one can leave me or hurt me or run
When I'm safely behind the wheel

Society didn't provide
Assistance and treatment and cost-free advice
To help stop the hurting inside
