Blue Grass Is Green Grass

This is the grass
But we mean it's green grass
Blue grass, green grass
Blue grass is green grass
The tractor will be far
The combine harvester is too far we know

This is green grass
Why it is called bluegrass i don't know
But it may as well be the same
I sit in the farm
With my hat perched apon my head
With my acoustic guitar and my ukulele and banjo
But it's the mandolin i want
And it's nothing for me to just get it out
And start playing in my farm
Because just that's what i do

Big old tree stands far and i see it from my house
Where i sit and play my bluegrass cos it's green grass
And it's never gonna change from the grass that it is
Even though there are trees in the garden
This is my green grass
