The Council of Elrond

[-the meeting-]
Glorfindel shouted: "- run, lim, asfaloth!!"
His white horse dodged the riders:
Frodo then reached the ford,
And in the effort he faded away.
The Nazgûl began to scream:
"- the ring!!", and dared to cross.
Suddenly the river's flow increased
And dragged the shadows into the water.
Frodo woke up and could see
Lying in a bed and a voice spoke to him.
It was Gandalf: "- everyone is fine!!",
Rest Frodo, you're in Rivendell.

Everything was revealed to the hobbit,
And little by little he recovered,
He reunited with his friends,
And met Elrond and his daughter Arwen.
Elrond's house brought tranquility,
For a few days they could relax.
Frodo found Bilbo in a hall,
And when he saw the ring, he hinted.
In the morning, Frodo woke up.
A tolling of bells echoed,
It's the call to the grand hall
For the council that Elrond called.

Elrond!! now calls his council
Elrond!! presents the chosen ones
Erestor, Glóin, Glorfindel, Galdor, Gimli, and Aragorn.
Elrond!! Frodo and Boromir are there.
Elrond!! Legolas and the Grey Wizard.
Frodo will show the ring,
Gandalf will tell what happened.
Nine will be the chosen ones,
The company must depart...

[-the betrayal of Saruman the White-]
Reveal the secrets they all kept.
It was told how the One appeared.
Gollum was captured and tortured by Sauron,
Until he betrayed the hobbit.
And Gandalf referred to his encounter
With his friend Saruman.
Radagast informed him about the Black Riders
And that the White wanted to talk.
Gandalf was glad for the call from the greatest wizard
Of his order, and went to Isengard;
And managed to reach the dark tower of Orthanc,
Where Saruman dwelt.

Betrayal, rage, pain, passion!!
The ring has blinded you

Saruman tempts Gandalf
To join their magic and prevail.
The duel is hard and eternal.

Saruman betrays them, wants the ring,
And craves the union with Gandalf.

Until Gwaihir manages to save him.
The eagle rescued him from the top of the tower,
And took him to Edoras,
Where the Rohirrim are, lords of the horses,
And there he took Shadowfax.
With him, he swiftly searched for the young Frodo,
And arrived at Hobbiton,
Then to Bree, Crickhollow... always following the hobbit's trail...

[-the departure of the company-]
Dodging the Nazgûl, Gandalf arrived
Three days before Frodo in Rivendell.
Now they would have to discuss
What to do with the ring.
It was decided at the meeting
To take it to Mordor... great difficulty,
To cast it into the mountain of destiny
Where it had been forged and thus destroy it.
They had to find a reliable bearer,
To take the ring to the place discussed.
At that moment Frodo volunteered
And the council accepted him.

Elrond ordered that they should depart
As soon as possible, and chose eight companions:
"- with Frodo will go Gandalf, Gimli, Strider, and Boromir,
Legolas, Sam, Merry, and also Pippin.
The hobbit said goodbye to Bilbo and he gave him
His sword Sting, which he handed over with affection.
Boromir blew his horn in the air as a farewell
And towards Moria the fellowship headed.
