I sat down
By the ocean
And the rolling sea
I sat down
In the sunshine
With a bottle of wine

Then I heard
A magic sound
Echoing around
All the sailors
Were a-singing
Every now and then:

Ship in sight
Way out east
Rocking all along
With a thousand
Men at least
Joining in the song:

"Somewhere on the sea

Now the ship
Sailed away
Had no time to stay

But I heard
The same old song
Every now and then:
"The Waters Run Deep
