The Truth

Tried so hard, tried every day and night
To understand what's true, to understand what's right
So many preachers telling people what to do
But they don't show the light, they all seem so confused
Some even seed the hate inside the younger hearts
Because of different names, they throw the world apart
So here I am still lost in this religious game
Where fools are playing God pointing the ones to blame

Now the temples are full
But the faith is not true
Everyone inside is blind
There's no light on their minds
Senseless rituals for fools
Not what I'm here to find

Now I know the truth is in our hearts
But still, we cannot find the answers
Or the reasons why we feel so lost in the dark

What is this that makes you close your eyes
That puts you on your knees whispering prayers and lies?
Do you repent what you've been?
Did you cross the line?
Can you forgive your own sins?
Can you forgive mine?
Repeating Ancient Rhymes they wash away their crimes
Newborn will rise and shine, that's what I've heard last time
Yet no lost sheep was saved inside the slaughterhouse
They make the same mistakes and spread the word around
