La Tumba

The mountain begins to stir from its slumber
A civilization sleeps
A utopia befouled by Man’s true nature
They shall now, perish for their sins

The ground tremors as the pressure builds
The wrath of the gods pushing through the crust
Time holds its breath in anticipation
The mountain speaks, its mouth wide open

Deafening ears, screaming: magma, ash, and death
The island people consumed by terror
Cry out to the sky pleading for salvation
They are swallowed by the earth and ocean

Bodies digested in the bowels of the sea
Tidal waves obliterate architecture
The great city is sinking!

A cataclysm so horrific
An island once so majestic
Atlantis, embraced by the ocean
Engulfed in its dark waves
A new home, a vast tomb
