Thee In De Sahara

Tea In The Sahara

Mijn zussen en ikMy sisters and I
Hebben deze wens voor we stervenHave this wish before we die
En het klinkt misschien vreemdAnd it may sound strange
Alsof onze zinnen verstoord zijnAs if our minds are deranged
Vraag ons alsjeblieft niet waaromPlease don't ask us why
Onder de beschermende luchtBeneath the sheltering sky
Hebben we deze vreemde obsessieWe have this strange obsession
Jij hebt de middelen in je bezitYou have the means in your possession

We willen ons thee in de Sahara met jouWe want our tea in the Sahara with you
We willen ons thee in de Sahara met jouWe want our tea in the Sahara with you

De jonge man stemde inThe young man agreed
Hij zou aan hun behoefte voldoenHe would satisfy their need
Dus dansten ze voor zijn plezierSo they danced for his pleasure
Met een vreugde die je niet kon metenWith a joy you could not measure
Ze zouden hier op hem wachtenThey would wait for him here
Elke jaar op dezelfde plekThe same place every year
Onder de beschermende luchtBeneath the sheltering sky
Zou hij over de woestijn vliegenAcross the desert he would fly

Thee in de Sahara met jouTea in the Sahara with you
Thee in de Sahara met jouTea in the Sahara with you

De lucht werd zwartThe sky turned to black
Zou hij ooit terugkomen?Would he ever come back?
Ze zouden een hoge duin beklimmenThey would climb a high dune
Ze zouden naar de maan biddenThey would pray to the moon
Maar hij zou nooit terugkerenBut he'd never return
Dus de zussen zouden brandenSo the sisters would burn
Terwijl hun ogen het land doorzochtenAs their eyes searched the land
Met hun kopjes vol zandWith their cups full of sand

Thee in de Sahara met jouTea in the Sahara with you
Thee in de Sahara met jouTea in the Sahara with you
Thee in de Sahara met jouTea in the Sahara with you
Thee in de Sahara met jouTea in the Sahara with you
