In My Dreams

Wake me up when I'm screaming in my sleep.
I think I'm having a nightmare.
Hold me closer than one could ever need.
I'm just not safe anywhere.

My eyes roll, I'm in and out of reality.
I can't tell the difference in good and bad dreams
Pray for me, I know it won't do anything, but that's ok.
I'm awake. I think I'd rather be asleep.
Who knows what's worse?
Torture me in my sleep.

Inside my head it burns at night.
Where all my darkest secrets lie
This fear has taken me.
Crawling out from underneath.
It haunts me in my sleep.
Just leave me alone. I'm an empty soul.

My screams may echo me,
But not to be heard within my dreams.
Lead me on to my defeat.
