Forsaken

In a garden called Gethsemane
God's only Son, was on His knees
As the tears of blood fell at His feet
All the earth would groan, beside with grief

He was forsaken, for my sake
Christ was forsaken, for our sake

With a friendly kiss, He was betrayed
By a selfish heart, He'd come to save
He was beaten, though omnipotent
He was put on a trial, though innocent

What a Savior, what a Rescue, what a Gift of Love
Perfect, Spotless, Lamb of God who bore all sin for us

On a cross he hung at Calvary
A place of pain and glory
One life for all, one price to pay
For death to die inside the grave

Oh the blood has saved us
