These Are The Days

Got up today with an aching head
Another day of wishing I was dead
Life's short. The day is long
Plenty of time for watching things go wrong
You live once. I'm young now.
I'm gonna keep my spirits up somehow.
I'm here tonight with no cares
So put a fist up for the go nowhere's.

These are the days I'll look back to for my life
We've got our troubles but tonight I'm feeling alright

I've spent time dwelling on things I've feared
And I've been wondering if I'll go somewhere
The future's dark, too dark to see.
These days now could break me
Or they could bring about finality
I've got faith in my heart
It's the candle that will kill this dark

These are the days I'll look back to for my life
We've got our troubles but tonight I'm feeling alright

I thanked Christ that I wasn't dead
Take this day as your last and live it all the way into your past
Wake up now and seize the day or you'll be asking how it slipped away
I may not have much. I'm just a go nowhere.
But I'm living for the time I'm here
