North south east west every direction
is hopeless everywhere i look another condo's
being built they sell their homes each day
they destroy the symbols of our history
never thinking it might be wrong to shame
a culture for prosperity coltrane's spinning
in his grave again and miles is doing jumping
jacks in heaven jazz didn't die for you it
lives for the heritage jazz didn't die for you or
your fucking profit they destroy our parks and
corner shops so college kids could live some
place and people who have lived here their whole
watch this town disintegrate college will
always be a black hole that sucks in the life
surrounding it just ask the sax on the
building it won't screech jazz it'll blare
