There's someone in your life you've never seen
Who stays in the background, but rules supreme
He'll have you believe he's not there, it's all in your mind
So why should you care?

He can offer you a good time, but that won't last
Even the pleasures of this world will soon be passed
He'll make them attractive and you will fall
Then make you believe they're not evil at all

When the gospel is preached, he trembles with fear
He'll poison your mind, then perhaps you won't hear
The truth in God's word, that the devil's condemned
And all who follow his way will meet the same end
