Our glass is half full
As we lie side by side
Upon the sand beneath the sky
Hourglass sand falling too fast
Let's lay it on its side for a while

Out glass has been turned on its side
The contents spilled but it's still half filled
Hourglass has been turned upside-down
And the times is running away

Our glass is half empty,
The sand is slipping through the spaces in our hands
The clouds float by across the sky
as the hours fly past
