December

Desembre

It was a cold day in December when we crossed pathsEra un fred dia de desembre quan ens vam creuar
You were with someone, and I was out shopping with my momTu anaves acompanyada i jo amb la mama a comprar
Brown eyes and wavy hairUns ulls de color marró i un cabell mig ondulat
With freckles on your noseAmb pigues al nas

We talked until lateParlàvem fins les tantes
We made up our storyInventavem el relat
But it was just shynessPerò només era vergonya
We didn’t know how to move forwardNo sabíem avançar

And I searched for you in every cornerI jo et buscava a qualsevol racó
And you just waited aroundI tu et quedaves esperant

A hidden kissUn petó amagat
The second one didn’t come until next yearEl segon no va arribar fins l’any vinent
And it felt like nothing had happenedI era com si res hagués passat
Because our connection was instantPerquè la nostra connexió va ser imminent
And I knew you were the one who would be there foreverI vaig saber que eres tu qui hi seria eternament

Little by little, the memory faded like a flickerMica en mica va volar el record fent pampallugues
You left for over a year, and the story didn’t lastMarxes fora més d’un any i la història no perdura
I dive into it for a while, but nothing eases the bitterness, oh noM’hi capfico per un temps, però res sàcia l’amargura, oh no

And now it’s December 12th, and the longing has seen the lightI ara és 12 de desembre i l’anhel ha vist la llum
I’ve written a million letters that only talk about youHe escrit un milió de lletres que només parlen de tu
And the years have gone by, so many years, and now I watch you focusedI han anat passant els anys, tants anys i ara et miro concentrat

As you sleep next to meCom dorms al meu costat
And I know you’ll sleep there the next nightI sé que hi dormiràs la nit següent
And it’s just how I imagined it would beI és tal com m’ho havia imaginat
Because our connection was instantPerquè la nostra connexió va ser imminent
And I knew you were the one who would be there foreverI vaig saber que eres tu qui hi seria eternament
