Wandel Over De Oceaan

Walk On The Ocean

We zagen de oceaan aan het begin van het padWe spotted the ocean at the head of the trail
Waar gaan we heen, zo ver weg?Where are we going, so far away?
En iemand vertelde me dat dit de plek isAnd somebody told me this is the place
Waar alles beter is en alles veilig isWhere everything's better and everything's safe

Wandel over de oceaanWalk on the ocean
Stap op de stenenStep on the stones
Vlees wordt waterFlesh becomes water
Hout wordt botWood becomes bone

Een half uur later pakten we onze spullenHalf an hour later we packed up our things
Zeiden dat we brieven zouden sturen en al die kleine dingenSaid we'd send letters and all of those little things
En ze wisten dat we loegen, maar ze glimlachten tochAnd they knew we were lying, but they smiled just the same
Het leek alsof ze al vergeten waren dat we gekomen warenSeemed they'd already forgotten we'd came

Nu terug bij de boerderij, waar de lucht je doet stikkenNow back at the homestead, where the air makes you choke
En mensen je niet kennen, vertrouwen is een grapAnd people don't know you, trust is a joke
Heb zelfs geen foto's, alleen herinneringen om vast te houdenDon't even have pictures, just memories to hold
Wordt zoeter elk seizoen, terwijl we langzaam ouder wordenGrows sweeter each season, as we slowly grow old
