Et rendait la pièce plutôt petiteAnd made the room feel rather small
Et sombre et triste.And dark and sad.

Alors j'ai posé le papier etSo I laid down the paper and
Pris mes pinceaux pour commencer.Picked up my brushes to start.
Peignant sur cette vieille maisonPainting over this old home
Pour lui donner un air à moiTo make it feel like it's my own
Mais désespéré de ne pas être seulBut desperate not to be alone
Car cette maison a besoin d'un cœur.Cause this home needs a heart

Et je regarde la peinture sécher sur les mursAnd I'm watching the paint dry on the walls
Et chaque fois que je pense entendreAnd every time I think I hear
Le bruit de quelqu'un qui s'approcheThe sound of someone coming near
Je me retourne pour voir qui est là et il n'y aI turn to see who's there and there is
Jamais personne là du tout.Never anybody there at all.

Hier la pièce était griseYesterday the room was grey
Mais maintenant elle est un peu bleue.But now it's kinda blue.
Ça rend la pièce plus grandeIt makes the room feel larger
C'est une teinte incandescenteIt's an incandescent hue
Qui me fait penser à l'électricitéThat makes me think of electricity
Et aux gens vivant dans la ville en bas.And people living in the city below.

J'ai travaillé la première moitié de ma vieI worked the first half of my life
Pour passer la seconde dans cet endroit,To spend the second in this place,
