sometimes the words just slip
you know how that goes
throwing around the words that could mean something
or be something to someone
and they believe you
and they trust you

how could i put your heart at ease
i didn't mean everything i said
except the part where we'd be together
i'm always leaving out forever

of course i cared about you
no one else has ever compared
but that doesn't lead straight to love
although i probably made it seem that way
