At Takao River

A road was leading on
To the land of eternity
For a man on his last travel
When he came to cross
Over a bridge broken
Dismounted and pulling heavy weight
Tremendous effort and struggle
This man did fail

Through grasped the piling firmly
And giving mighty shout
It still sank to the rivers step
And when the man returned he died
After the takao river
After the takao cross
After the takao river
That man, he died

One man's death
Giving another one the gifts unforeseen
By destiny and by chance
