Le Whisky Ne Fait Plus Effet

The Whiskey Ain't Workin'

Il fut un temps où je pouvais noyer mes soucisThere was a time I could drink my cares away
Et étouffer toutes les peines qui me blessaient nuit et jourAnd drown out all of the heartaches that hurt me night and day
Quand l'idée de toi me frappait, je prenais un verre de plusWhen the thought of you came crashin' through I'd have one more
Mais maintenant, le whisky ne fait plus effetBut now the whiskey ain't workin' anymore

J'ai besoin d'un bon ange de honky tonk pour changer ma vieI need one good honky tonk angel to turn my life around
C'est une raison suffisante pour que je pose cette vieille bouteilleThat's reason enough for me to lay this old bottle down

Et ils savaient toutes les raisons pour lesquelles je venais, venais, venaisAnd they knew all of the reasons why I was coming round, round, round
Car dans mon esprit, je trouvais la paix quand ils commençaient à servir'Cause in my mind peace I'd find when they'd start to pour
Mais maintenant, le whisky ne fait plus effetBut now the whiskey ain't workin' anymore

J'ai besoin d'un bon ange de honky tonk pour changer ma vieI need one good honky tonk angel to turn my life around
C'est une raison suffisante pour que je pose cette vieille bouteilleThat's reason enough for me to lay this old bottle down

That's for sure!
