Children's Story

Había una vez, no hace mucho tiempo,Once upon a time not long ago,
cuando la gente usaba pijamas y vivía despacio,when people wore pajamas and lived life slow,
Cuando las leyes eran estrictas y la justicia prevalecía,When laws were stern and justice stood,
y la gente se comportaba como debía,and people were behavin' like they ought ta good,
Vivía un niño pequeño que fue engañado,There lived a lil' boy who was misled,
por otro niño y esto es lo que dijo:by another little boy and this is what he said:
'Tú y yo esta noche vamos a ganar algo de dinero,"Me & you tonight are gonna make some cash,
robando a ancianos y escapando',robbin' old folks and makin' tha dash",
Hicieron el trabajo, el dinero llegó fácilmente,They did the job, money came with ease,
pero uno no podía parar, era como si tuviera una enfermedad,but one couldn't stop, it's like he had a disease,
Robó a otro y a otro, a una hermana y a su hermano,He robbed another and another and a sista and her brotha,
intentó robar a un hombre que era un policía encubierto,tried to rob a man who was a duty undercover,
El policía agarró su brazo, él empezó a actuar de forma errática,The cop grabbed his arm, he started acting erratic,
dijo 'Quédate quieto, chico, no hay necesidad de problemas',he said "Keep still, boy, no need for static",
Le dio un puñetazo en el vientre y le dio una bofetada,Punched him in his belly and he gave him a slap,
pero poco sabía que el niño estaba armado,but little did he know the little boy was strapped,
El chico sacó un arma, dijo '¿Por qué me golpeaste?',The kid pulled out a gun, he said "WhyÕd ya hit me ?",
la pistola apuntaba directo al riñón del policía,the barrel was set straight for the cop's kidney,
El policía se asustó, el chico empezó a pensar,The cop got scared, the kid, he starts to figure,
'Haré años si aprieto este gatillo',"I'll do years if I pull this trigger",
Así que corrió y se escapó alrededor de la cuadra,So he cold dashed and ran around the block,
el policía lo comunicó a otra policía,cop radioes it to another lady cop,
Pasó junto a un árbol, allí vio a esta chica,He ran by a tree, there he saw this sister,
un disparo a la cabeza, él disparó pero la falló,a shot for the head, he shot back but he missed her,
Miró a su alrededor y con expectativas,Looked around good and from expectations,
entonces decidió dirigirse a las estaciones de metro,so he decided he'd head for the subway stations,
Pero ella se acercaba y él giró a la izquierda,But she was coming and he made a left,
Corría a toda velocidad hasta quedarse sin aliento,he was runnin' top speed till he was outta breath,
Derribó a un anciano y juró haberlo matado,Knocked an old man down and swore he killed him,
luego se movió hacia un edificio abandonado,then he made his move to an abandoned building,
Subió las escaleras hasta el último piso,Ran up the stairs up to the top floor,
abrió la puerta y ¿adivinen a quién vio?,opened up the door there, guess who he saw?,
Dave el adicto disparando droga,Dave the dope fiend shootin' dope,
que no conoce el significado de agua ni jabón,who don't know the meaning of water nor soap,
Dijo '¡Necesito balas, apúrate, corre!'He said "I need bullets, hurry up, run!"
el adicto trajo una escopeta nueva,the dope fiend brought back a spanking shotgun,
Salió afuera pero había policías por todas partes,He went outside but there was cops all over,
luego se metió en un auto, un Nova robado,then he dipped into a car, a stolen Nova,
Corrió por la cuadra a 83,Raced up the block doing 83,
chocó contra un árbol cerca de una universidad,crashed into a tree near a university,
Escapó con vida aunque el auto estaba destrozado,Escaped alive though the car was battered,
rat-a-tat-tat y todos los policías se dispersaron,rat-a-tat-tatted and all the cops scattered,
Se quedó sin balas y aún tenía problemas,Ran out of bullets and still had static,
agarró a una mujer embarazada, sacó el automático,grabbed a pregnant lady, got out the automatic,
apuntó a su cabeza y dijo que la pistola estaba llena de plomo,Pointed at her head and he said the gun was full o' lead,
les dijo a los policías '¡Retrocedan o esta mujer muere!',he told the cops "Back off or honey here's dead",
En lo más profundo de su corazón sabía que estaba mal,Deep in his heart he knew he was wrong,
entonces dejó ir a la mujer y empezó a correr,so he let the lady go and he starts to run on,
Las sirenas sonaban, él parecía sorprendido,Sirens sounded, he seemed astounded,
pronto el niño pequeño fue rodeado,before long the little boy got surrounded,
Dejó caer el arma, así se fue la gloria,He dropped the gun, so went the glory,
y así es como debo terminar esta historia,and this is the way I must end this story,
Tenía solo diecisiete años, en un sueño de loco,He was only seventeen, in a madman's dream,
los policías dispararon al chico, aún lo escucho gritar,the cops shot the kid, I still hear him scream,
Esto no es gracioso así que no te atrevas a reír,This ain't funny so don't ya dare laugh,
solo otro caso sobre el camino equivocado,just another case 'bout the wrong path,
Recto y estrecho o tu alma será condenada.Straight 'n narrow or your soul gets cast.
