Time To Shine

Today dawned, raining down a fire of promise
In beautiful bright hues
I blaze on while shadows from the peaks in the valleys
Are made to consume truth
I’ve found myself amongst the false and fearsome
But I’m ready to break away
And I’m willing to claim

If I can’t escape the war
If I have to face my weakness, I won’t step aside
I know it’s worth the fight
I won’t cover up the scars
I will climb until I reach the top; I’m aiming high
I know it’s time to shine

I won’t drown swallowing a river of false hope
Or singing the wrong tune
I gain ground when following integrity’s virtue
We’ve just got to break through
The sound of clarity rings high and mighty
Got my feet in a better day
And I’m aiming to stay

Glory-bound, trekking through wastelands of the faithless
Turning down offers of destiny
I’ve got better fates to make
