"Yeah, the ladies," sighs the Dean, laughing hard"Ja, die Weiber", seufzt der Rektor und lacht dabei fett
And then they sing again in a trio:Und dann sing'n sie noch mal im Terzett:

"We're still so spry, so fit and trim,"Wir sind noch so rüstig, so knackig und stramm,
Comrades, we'll never be young again!"Kameraden, so jung komm' wir nie mehr zusamm'!"

It was a beautiful time back thenEs war damals eine schöne Zeit
And they’re still always readyUnd sie sind immer noch allzeit bereit
And think: Hopefully, it’ll be time again soonUnd denken: Hoffentlich ist es bald wieder soweit
The Doctor swears to the Dean that they’ll strike againDer Arzt schwört dem Rektor, dass sie noch mal zuschlagen woll'n
Then both try to pull the Notary under the tableDann versuchen beide, den Notar unterm Tisch vorzuhol'n

And then as they part waysUnd dann beim Auseinandergeh'n
They sing: "Who knows when we’ll meet again."Sing'n sie: "Wer weiß, wann wir uns wiederseh'n."
But the question isn’t so much when, but if, - and if so, who’s with whom?Doch die Frage ist nicht so sehr wann, sondern ob, - und wenn, wer wen?
But the spirit that inspires them lives on beyond themDoch der Geist, der sie beseelt, lebt in jedem Fall über sie hinaus
Because this kind of hero doesn’t die out just yet.Denn diese Art Helden stirbt vorerst nicht aus
