Cold Brutal Light

Moons rising into northern skies
clouds eclipsing and creating
ambient light with which the trees come to life
soiled fleshless weeping branches
when the wind gusts and the stench calls
only travel to the forest of eternity if you will die for everlasting life
if you will die in cold and brutal light
florescent penumbra creeping and crawling
into the forest
her dress is ripped and torn from a curious dissent
unknowing of the consequence
weeping fleshless branches
crying out for help from the cold and tainted life
she plants her feet and roots into the soil
becoming one of them
callers faces flicker in the torch light
an eternal hunt has been incited
your reward will return ethereal in the ever after
