Caminé por el parque y vi un joven roble creciendo,I walked through the park and saw a young oak tree growing,
Creciendo junto a una vieja corteza golpeada por un rayo.Growing beside an old bark hit by lightning.
Pregunté al joven árbol cómo deseaba ser,I asked the young tree how he wished to be,
Él agitó sus hojas y me cantó:He shook his leaves and sung to me:

Soy un fuerte roble como solía ser mi padre,I'm a strong oak tree like my father used to be,
Aunque en lo profundo de mi corazón, el recuerdo aún está ahí.Though deep in my heart, the memory's still there.
El cielo está más claro ahora y el viento es justo,The sky is clearer now and the wind is fair,
El mundo es hermoso y me gusta estar aquí afuera.The world is beautiful and i like it out here.

Cuando escucho truenos, pienso en mi padre,When i hear thunder, i think of my father,
