On The Way To Tetnus

If I could rid of my selfishness and my need to be the best,
maybe I could truly progress,
mistakes are always in the back of my mind and so is the past,
while the price of gas rises the chance of me moving on do not,
I've come to accept the fact that every time I try I won't
succeed but a negative attitude brings everyone down including me,
we can do this together,
this competition is childish nonsense,
don't hit me when I'm down help me up your sucker punch has left it's mark,
where can I find encouragement that flows like rain?
This prolonged dry spell has got to end,
I have so much to say that it's clogging my throat,
force feed myself these lies that I'm nothing,
why can't I see that success is within me?
