Animal Instinct

Look into my eyes, there's no vanity in me
All I have is my freedom
Look at me straight, I'm just like you
I also feel fear, I tremble just like you

I wish to dive, accompany the waves
And have fun, make parabolas, swim alone
Feel free at all times, explore a thousand zones
Use my sonar, in short

Have the qualities of a dolphin
Sail that remote boundary
With a thousand like me, protected
Guide my direction with a whistle

My sound is clear, it navigates through liquid kilometers
And I always keep some lost ship
I could have been born in another skin
That of that crocodile that decorates the suitcase of your hotel

That loyal dog you abandoned in the shadow
Maybe I would be the one that on your floor is a carpet
And are you better? If you lack tiger claws
You cling to freedom and you are not free

I roam the savannah in the African steppe
Some cry for help upon seeing an outlaw and his shotgun
I want to climb trees, go from top to top
Sit peacefully under a sun that covers me

Can you gallop through the meadows of Europe?
Feel the rain wet you until you're soaked
There's no room for those prejudices, only animal instinct
If you look at us differently, it will be your rational being
But who is right if the heart clouds

Can I be a bird? I want to touch that cloud

You may degrade me but why don't you rise to my altitudes?

Feel the natural signals more real in the animal kingdom
From the wolf to the marsupials, from the falcon to the snake
All plural, you against the current
Could it be that your great mind makes you underestimate me?

Brothers massacred, the extinction of my species
And what blind person doesn't see when looking into my eyes
And kills my children, and puts locks on me?
How many seas dyed red drown my sorrows?
If you are the hyena or is there no blood running through my veins?

And in just a decade my herd has dwindled
Today the meadow is sand, another burnt hive
Another hunted whale, at the hands of humans
Another pelican bathed in crude dies early
