When I'm Gone

Another winter turns into spring,
and we're not sure what it might bring.
Because now this situation is more tense than it ever was.
Our fears have made us blind, for whatever it is we want.
And so we stop trying and let others lead the way.

Maybe someday we'll be fine,
and it will all be worth the while.
But for now we'll rest our heads,
it's our moment here alone,
so gather strength to carry on,
We are far from letting go.

I know there's something on your mind,
We might get through it if we try.
So tell me what you need to say and hopefully we'll be OK.
You said your safe when I'm around,
and all the things that drag you down,
disappear only to come back to haunt you when I'm gone.
