Red Roses

Why are they so red these roses?
I cannot understand
Why are they so red these roses?
They are so bloody red
How can it be that people die
For dirty power and money?
How can it be that people die
Therefor die
How can it be?

Why are they so red of blood?

They've got no names
They don't know why
They're only used until they die
They are only innocents
Have to suffer that
Nations get exterminated
Livings get destroyed
They're going to their death
And the roses turning red

... to fight against each other
Crush the roses underfoot
And kill one another
And drown in their blood?

On the one hand are the poor
They're exploited and oppressed
On the other hand there are the rich
They're responsible for that
They're the really guilty
Give the orders to kill millions of people
And send them to their death
And the roses turn bloody red
