All night long, every night they come
Crawling, sluggish, leg to neck, closer and closer to your head
One of those diseases that exposes what’s beneath us
Well, you may hide from me, but not from yourself

Stuck in a puzzle of some sort
Lost in a rail-less train of thoughts
Catch a glimpse of what it could but will never be
Shake it away
Repeat

Like a question mark it slithers and barks
In my head
Another knot, another thread
Seven days spent mad
But it’ll go down
And it will spread
Not know
Eventually, and then suddenly
A final calm, your very own lullaby

Shining like a leaf kissing the sun
Luring you to play that day
Just another stone in a cold and lonely road
And the reverie slips away
