Hellas Eternal

As in a vision I see Graecus,
He speaks to me in the ancient tongue;
And I understand his every word:

I held the standard of Constantine
And shed my blood for the empire;
I went a' hunting with Digenees

I swore upon the Revolution's flag
Freedom or death - woe to the Turks!
I was free yet even when besieged:
On Suli's rock our maidens danced...

I faced alone Wehrmacht's iron might
And put the Duce's troops to flight;
For freedom I have fought twice ten times
And fight again I will if needed be!

Hellas is eternal as long as
There's a heart that pumps Hellenic blood
And arms the hand that freedom defends
And punishes those who would see HER dead!
