She's running fast, she's running scared
A monster's on her tail
It's always there
She can hear its footsteps
She's met with death

She's tried to hide
She's tried to fight
But the monster's always in sight
She's tried to flee, she' wants to scream
She's at the edge
She wants to be free

It haunts her thoughts and leaves her blind
It whispers lies and confuses her mind

The monster's chasing her, it's getting near
But what she doesn't know
It's just her fear her own mind, a monster in disguise

She stops to catch her breath, and takes a look
Realizing it's her thoughts that she mistook
The fiend's gone, and she's still alive
It was her own fear, that she had to survive
Now she walks with her head held high
Knowing that dread can't make her die
