Oh magic tree your secrets keep
A potion wise of healing deep
But sips of yew on Moon’s eclipse
A fatal end, beyond the lips

With arrow of birch, and grey goose-wing
The English yew, did long-bow bring
Protecting all, under albion skies
Remembering clear the battle cries

Immortal tree, forever green
Silent witness of all you’ve seen
Watch time come, and watch time go
Wise old yew, what do you know?

Dressed so dark, oh hollow tree
Can you tell me where I’ll be?
For when I'm gone, you’ll still be here
Probably for a thousand year

And when I'm back, and you are old
I’ll listen to your tales unfold
Of all the wars, and chieftains past
And things they dreamt, that did not last
