In front is the pharmacy 'The Aspirin',Frente se halla la botica "La Aspirina",
where my mom fills her prescriptions;donde surte sus recetas mi'ama;
next to it is the bar 'My Office'tiene junto a cantina "Mi oficina"
where my dad cures his ailmentsdonde cura sus dolencias mi'apa
and then 'The Best', the butcher shop,y le sigue "La mejor", carnicería,
where Don Baltasar sells the sirloin.donde vende el aguayón Don Baltasar.

It's the corner of my neighborhood, friends,Es la esquina de mi barrio, compañeros,
a place of unmatched movement;un lugar de movimiento sin igual;
buses, pedestrians, and dogslos camiones, los transeúntes y los perros
can't cross it without difficulty.no la cruzan sin tener deficultad.

When there haven't been accidents, there have been injuriesCuando no ha habido moquetes, hubo heridos
or some fool that the bus has splattered,o algún sonzo que el camión ya lo embarró,
sometimes there are only shouts and whistlesotras veces sólo hay gritos y chiflidos
or you can hear the troubadour cylinder.o se escucha el cilindrero trovador.
Across the street, where the pulqueria is,Contra esquina, donde está la pulquería,
there's a stand selling boiling tripas;hay un puesto de tripitas en hervor;
outside, the police are always thereallí afuera, siempre está la polecía
and that's where the loader has his barracks.y ahí tiene su cuartel el cargador.

On this side, 'La Cucaracha' sells breadDe este lado vende pan "La Cucaracha"
followed by the blinds of the pool hall;y le siguen las persianas del billar;
'The Tarife' parked his jalopy there"El Tarife" ya paró ahí su carcacha
because he arrives with his buddies to play,porque llega con sus cuates a jugar
Don Fernando is following a girlDon Fernando va siguiendo a una muchacha
and Lupita, his wife, is right behind.y Lupita, su mujer, ahí va detrás.
