A Sad Affair

She is well versed in this affair
And so encounters it with care
She knows him well - too well
And all he's thinking of
But she will keep it to herself.

The only man she's ever known
Is breaking up her heart and home
And such is love
That she would die for him
While he would treat her carelessly.

And so accustomed as she is
To other women such as this
When he goes out
And children softly sleep
She sits down by herself and cries
