Autumn's Death

Awake child, your heart stopped beating.
No pain, no more breathing.
A strange land, a new beginning.

And there in the midst of this,
An elm can be seen.
And false dreams cling to every leaf.

Seeing and not believing.
Surrounded by souls in grieving.
Sadly never moving.
Come. Autumn, the water.

Peering through the mist - Shadows.
The water smells of death - And sickness.
Charon's bony hand - Reaching.
Pay the fare to cross - An obol.

No bottom; you'll sink forever.
Don't even try, even gods have died.
Close your eyes and pray for land.

The gate is guarded, the dogs are sleeping.
Never wake them; run forever if you can.
To the plains of sorrow, to become…
Consumed by the guilt that tears them all apart.

This vale is void - Of love.
In the dream fields - Suicide.
Lingering memories - Blood War.
Dividing road. Eternal. - Judgment forever.

And still it awaits.
