Y levantando mis ojos, vi a un hombre con una cuerda de medir en su mano.And lifting up my eyes, I saw a man with a measuring-line in his hand.
Y le dije: ¿A dónde vas? Y él me respondió: Para medir a Jerusalén, para ver cuán ancha y cuán larga es.2 And I said to him, Where are you going? And he said to me, To take the measure of Jerusalem, to see how wide and how long it is.
Y el ángel que hablaba conmigo salió, y otro ángel salió y, al encontrarse con él,3 And the angel who was talking to me went out, and another angel went out, and, meeting him,
Le dijo: Ve rápido y dile a este joven que Jerusalén será una ciudad sin murallas, debido a la gran cantidad de hombres y ganado en ella.4 Said to him, Go quickly and say to this young man, Jerusalem will be an unwalled town, because of the great number of men and cattle in her.
Porque yo, dice el Señor, seré un muro de fuego alrededor de ella, y seré la gloria en su interior.5 For I, says the Lord, will be a wall of fire round about her, and I will be the glory inside her.
¡Eh, eh! huye de la tierra del norte, dice el Señor, porque te he enviado lejos y ancho a los cuatro vientos del cielo, dice el Señor.6 Ho, ho! go in flight from the land of the north, says the Lord: for I have sent you far and wide to the four winds of heaven, says the Lord.
¡Eh! Sión, huye del peligro, tú que vives con la hija de Babilonia.7 Ho! Zion, go in flight from danger, you who are living with the daughter of Babylon.
Porque así ha dicho el Señor de los ejércitos: En el camino de la gloria me ha enviado a las naciones que han tomado tus bienes: porque cualquiera que te toque está tocando lo más querido para él.8 For this is what the Lord of armies has said: In the way of glory he has sent me to the nations which have taken your goods: for anyone touching you is touching what is most dear to him.
Porque al agitar mi mano sobre ellos, sus bienes serán tomados por aquellos que fueron sus siervos: y verás que el Señor de los ejércitos me ha enviado.9 For at the shaking of my hand over them, their goods will be taken by those who were their servants: and you will see that the Lord of armies has sent me.
Entona cánticos de alegría, oh hija de Sión, porque yo vengo, y haré mi morada entre ustedes, dice el Señor.10 Give songs of joy, O daughter of Zion: for I come, and I will make my resting-place among you, says the Lord.
Y muchas naciones se unirán al Señor en ese día, y serán mi pueblo; y viviré entre ustedes, y verán que el Señor de los ejércitos me ha enviado a ustedes.11 And a number of nations will be joined to the Lord in that day, and will become my people; and I will be living among you, and you will see that the Lord of armies has sent me to you.
Y Judá será la herencia del Señor en la tierra santa, y Jerusalén volverá a ser suya.12 And Judah will be the Lord's heritage in the holy land, and Jerusalem will again be his.
Que toda carne se calle y no haga ruido delante del Señor, porque él está despierto y ha venido de su santa morada.13 Let all flesh be quiet and make no sound before the Lord: for he is awake and has come from his holy resting-place.
