Ahora nosotros, que somos fuertes, debemos soportar las debilidades de los débiles, y no agradarnos a nosotros mismos.Now we that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves.
Que cada uno de nosotros agrade a su prójimo para lo que es bueno, para edificación.2 Let each one of us please his neighbor for that which is good, unto edifying.
Pues Cristo tampoco se agradó a sí mismo; sino que, como está escrito, Los reproches de los que te reprocharon cayeron sobre mí.3 For Christ also pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell upon me.
Porque todo lo que se escribió anteriormente se escribió para nuestra enseñanza, para que a través de la paciencia y el consuelo de las Escrituras tengamos esperanza.4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that through patience and through comfort of the scriptures we might have hope.
Ahora el Dios de paciencia y consuelo os conceda tener un mismo sentir unos con otros según Cristo Jesús;5 Now the God of patience and of comfort grant you to be of the same mind one with another according to Christ Jesus:
para que unánimes, a una voz, glorifiquéis al Dios y Padre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo.6 that with one accord ye may with one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Por tanto, recibiros los unos a los otros, como también Cristo nos recibió, para gloria de Dios.7 Wherefore receive ye one another, even as Christ also received you, to the glory of God.
Pues os digo que Cristo ha sido hecho ministro de la circuncisión por la verdad de Dios, para confirmar las promesas [dadas] a los padres,8 For I say that Christ hath been made a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, that he might confirm the promises [given] unto the fathers,
y para que los gentiles glorifiquen a Dios por su misericordia; como está escrito: Por tanto, te alabaré entre los gentiles, Y cantaré a tu nombre.9 and that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy; as it is written, Therefore will I give praise unto thee among the Gentiles, And sing unto thy name.
Y otra vez dice: Alegraos, gentiles, con su pueblo.10 And again he saith, Rejoice, ye Gentiles, with his people.
Y otra vez: Alabad al Señor, todos los gentiles; Y alaben todos los pueblos.11 And again, Praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles; And let all the peoples praise him.
Y otra vez, Isaías dice: Habrá la raíz de Isaí, Y el que se levantará a regir los gentiles; En él los gentiles esperarán.12 And again, Isaiah saith, There shall be the root of Jesse, And he that ariseth to rule over the Gentiles; On him shall the Gentiles hope.
Ahora el Dios de esperanza os llene de todo gozo y paz en el creer, para que abundéis en esperanza por el poder del Espíritu Santo.13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Y yo mismo también estoy persuadido de vosotros, hermanos míos, de que vosotros mismos estáis llenos de bondad, llenos de todo conocimiento, capaces también de amonestaros unos a otros.14 And I myself also am persuaded of you, my brethren, that ye yourselves are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish one another.
Pero os escribo con más franqueza en parte, como poniéndoos en memoria otra vez, a causa de la gracia que me fue dada por Dios,15 But I write the more boldly unto you in some measure, as putting you again in remembrance, because of the grace that was given me of God,
para ser ministro de Cristo Jesús a los gentiles, ministrando el evangelio de Dios, para que la ofrenda de los gentiles sea aceptable, santificada por el Espíritu Santo.16 that I should be a minister of Christ Jesus unto the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be made acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Spirit.
Por tanto, tengo de qué gloriarme en Cristo Jesús en lo que a Dios se refiere.17 I have therefore my glorifying in Christ Jesus in things pertaining to God.
Pues no me atreveré a hablar de ninguna cosa sino de lo que Cristo ha hecho por medio de mí, para la obediencia de los gentiles, con palabra y con hechos,18 For I will not dare to speak of any things save those which Christ wrought through me, for the obedience of the Gentiles, by word and deed,
en virtud de señales y prodigios, en virtud del Espíritu Santo; de manera que desde Jerusalén, y por los alrededores hasta Ilírico, he predicado cumplidamente el evangelio de Cristo;19 in the power of signs and wonders, in the power of the Holy Spirit; so that from Jerusalem, and round about even unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ;
siempre procurando anunciar el evangelio no donde Cristo ya hubiese sido nombrado, para no edificar sobre fundamento ajeno;20 yea, making it my aim so to preach the gospel, not where Christ was [already] named, that I might not build upon another man's foundation;
sino, como está escrito: Aquellos a quienes no les fue anunciado, verán; Y los que no han oído, entenderán.21 but, as it is written, They shall see, to whom no tidings of him came, And they who have not heard shall understand.
Por lo cual también he sido impedido muchas veces de ir a vosotros;22 Wherefore also I was hindered these many times from coming to you:
pero ahora, no teniendo ya más campo en estas regiones, y deseando desde hace muchos años ir a vosotros,23 but now, having no more any place in these regions, and having these many years a longing to come unto you,
cuando vaya a España (pues espero veros al pasar, y ser encaminado allá por vosotros, una vez que haya gozado un poco de vuestro compañerismo)--24 whensoever I go unto Spain (for I hope to see you in my journey, and to be brought on my way thitherward by you, if first in some measure I shall have been satisfied with your company)--
pero ahora voy a Jerusalén, ministrando a los santos.25 but now, I [say], I go unto Jerusalem, ministering unto the saints.
Pues les ha parecido bien a Macedonia y Acaya hacer una contribución para los pobres entre los santos que están en Jerusalén.26 For it hath been the good pleasure of Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor among the saints that are at Jerusalem.
Sí, les ha parecido bien, y son deudores de ellos. Porque si los gentiles han sido hechos participantes de sus bienes espirituales, deben también ellos ministrarles en los materiales.27 Yea, it hath been their good pleasure; and their debtors they are. For if the Gentiles have been made partakers of their spiritual things, they owe it [to them] also to minister unto them in carnal things.
Así que, cuando haya cumplido esto, y les haya entregado este fruto, pasaré entre vosotros rumbo a España.28 When therefore I have accomplished this, and have sealed to them this fruit, I will go on by you unto Spain.
Y sé que cuando vaya a vosotros, llegaré con la plenitud de la bendición de Cristo.29 And I know that, when I come unto you, I shall come in the fulness of the blessing of Christ.
Ahora os ruego, hermanos, por nuestro Señor Jesucristo y por el amor del Espíritu, que luchéis juntamente conmigo en vuestras oraciones a Dios por mí;30 Now I beseech you, brethren, by our Lord Jesus Christ, and by the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me;
para que sea librado de los rebeldes de Judea, y que mi servicio que hago por Jerusalén sea acepto a los santos;31 that I may be delivered from them that are disobedient in Judaea, and [that] my ministration which [I have] for Jerusalem may be acceptable to the saints;
para que vaya a vosotros con gozo, por la voluntad de Dios, y que sea recreado juntamente con vosotros.32 that I may come unto you in joy through the will of God, and together with you find rest.
Y el Dios de paz sea con todos vosotros. Amén.33 Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen.
