Fairest of the Faery

Under trees evergreen I fell asleep,
Lull'd by a woodland reel
Wreathed in flowers of gold, sat atop the Cliffs of Ivory
There I found you waiting for me;
Sunset in your eyes you smiled to see the Moon
Whispering velvet to mine ear - a rhyme of love
Held my hand and evermore claimed my heart.
Encircled by attending Faery
Fairest still you stood beyond compare,
Bestowed a furtive ruby kiss
Then vanished like the sweet summer breeze…
Awakening lonesome in the forest weeping silence I entreated:
Come back beloved Faery-dream; come back to me!
