The Wolf And The Phoenix

Once, a wolf living in a beautiful
Seemingly calm forest was surprised
By a strong, unseasonable storm
At first, everything went well
As a simple storm wouldn't cause
Any problems for such a strong and lively creature

As the weeks passed, the severe storm continued
And the wolf began to face problems
Game was scarce, the biting cold was intense
That it could reach the very core
And to make matters worse
Signs of snow were already beginning to appear

There was no explanation for such a phenomenon
And there was no point in searching for it
At the moment, as it would be pointless

One day, he found a cave, warm and comfortable
Inside, he discovered something fascinating
An old bird lying in a nest and beginning to burn

When he got closer, he found a ball
With a singular glow, so beautiful
That the wolf stared at it for hours
That kind of egg warmed the interior of the cave
With its fiery glow

Months passed, the wolf lay beside the egg
That warmed his soul, until one day
The glow began to intensify and the egg burst into flames
With a light so bright it was impossible to look

From within emerged a beautiful bird, the Phoenix
It looked at the Wolf with admiration and gratitude
For the months of vigil and flew out of the cave
He ran after it, and upon reaching the cave entrance
He saw the Phoenix disappearing into the horizon
Toward the sunset

Only then did the wolf realize that the storm had passed
And that the forest was renewed

Then the Wolf felt a warmth in his chest
Like the flames of the Phoenix, and realized
That he too was renewed, as if a new Wolf
Had just emerged into Life
