Lazy Day

Well it's halfway through the morning
When I finally get up
I'm fumbling and I'm yawning and I brew myself a cup
I rush and get some clothes on
Rag a brush across my hair
Go down and check the mailbox
To find there's nothing there
Sit down and reed the paper and I have a cigarette
I listen to the rainfall and check out all the ads
I know I've got a job to do but it doesn't turn out right
Can't seem to get down to it, hung up about tonight

Lazy day, how can I be this way
I used to find so many things to do
Empty day, sit and staring at the rain
And all I find to think about is you

I'll take out my umbrella and I'll think I go downtown
I'll face the rainy weather I've just got to get around
I'd like to buy you a present a really nice one too
A book, a silly something, with love from me to you
