Winter's Feat

When trees outside freeze
Our hearts rest at ease
'cause inside we'll count the flames in the fire place
Make tin-drum men shadow puppet friends!
And what we can't see, our hearts they do believe.

When toy soldiers hum
And drummer boys drum
Through the frosted window panes we'll hear black birds sing
When christmas eve becomes morning!
And on christmas day
We'll sleep after we play.

And on and on the fire burns the logs.
Each snowflake that falls from the sky
Marks another swift year gone by.

The lights burning low
And turkeys turn slow
For the flavors that we savor on winter's feat,
A handsome meal, we'll eat our fill!
