A challenge, by Elias the king was challengedUm desafio, por Elias o rei foi desafiado
All the people of Israel were summonedTodo o povo de Israel foi convocado
To witness this great scenePara esta grande cena contemplar
And Carmel was the address that God choseE o Carmelo foi o endereço que Deus escolheu
And hearing Elias, they obeyed immediatelyE ouvindo Elias, logo obedeceu
Putting all their trust and hopePondo toda sua confiança e a sua esperança
And all their faith in GodE toda sua fé em Deus

The challenge was thrown and all Israel watchedO desafio lançado estava e todo o Israel observava
There on Carmel, King Ahab went up with his prophetsLá no Carmelo ia subindo o rei Acabe com os seus profetas
And all the people watching and admiring that crowdE todo povo observando e admirando aquela multidão
But Elias was not alone, for those who serve God are the majorityMas Elias não estava só, pois quem serve a Deus é maioria
And the rest is leaf and dustE o resto é folha e pó

And at the appointed time, all set up, planned, well organizedE no horário, tudo montado, arquitetado, bem planejado
More than eight hundred go equallyMais de oitocentos vão por igual
All shouting, calling BaalTodos gritando chamando Baal
But time passed, all the people getting tiredMas o tempo foi passando, todo o povo se cansando
And the king already worried, still askingE o rei já preocupado, assim mesmo indagando
The prophets cutting themselves, hitting, hurtingOs profetas se cortando, se batendo, machucando
And Elias confident all the time mockingE Elias confiante o tempo todo zombando
Every morning passed and no sign of BaalToda manhã passou e nada de Baal
And the king ashamed saw no signalE o rei envergonhado não viu nenhum sinal
And all Israel found out that their God is not BaalE todo o Israel descobriu que o seu Deus não é Baal

There goes Elias to the challengeLá vai Elias pra o desafio
And all the people of Israel apprehensiveE todo o povo de Israel apreensivo
He took the prophets of Baal out of the wayTirou do meio os profetas de Baal
Maybe even some feeling unwellQuem sabe até alguns já se sentindo mal
With twelve stones he built the altarCom doze pedras ergueu o altar
Because only those who restore the altar see firePois só vê fogo quem restaura o altar
He put the sacrifice, the wood aroundPôs o sacrifício, a lenha em torno
Dug a trench and asked the people for waterCavou um rego e pediu água ao povo
He poured all the water over the altar until the sacrifice soaked the trenchPôs toda água sobre o altar até o sacrifício o rego encharcar
And after that he made that prayerE depois disso fez aquela oração
That tears the sky and touches God's heartQue rasga o céu e toca em Deus o coração
And to the surprise of Ahab and IsraelE pra surpresa de Acabe e Israel
God sent fire, but the fire was so strongDeus mandou fogo, mas foi tão forte o fogo
That it licked up all the waterQue toda água lambeu

And Israel killed the servants of BaalE Israel matou os servos de Baal
And the people amazed by the great signE o povo admirado com o grande sinal
Only the Lord is God, all the people shoutedSó o Senhor é Deus, gritava todo povo
And the altar burning in the midst of the peopleE o altar ardendo no meio do povo
For God's answer in the believer's life is firePois a resposta de Deus na vida do crente é fogo

In this church there is fire, on the altar there is fireNesta igreja tem fogo, no altar tem fogo
From head to toe this believer has fireDa cabeça aos pés desse crente tem fogo
He prays with fire, he preaches with fire, he has God's fireEle ora com fogo, ele prega com fogo, de Deus tem fogo
He is baptized with fire, in tongues of fireÉ batizado com fogo, em línguas de fogo
His heart is a torch of fireE o seu coração é uma tocha de fogo
His speech is fire, his walk is fire, he has God's fireSeu falar é fogo, seu andar é fogo, de Deus tem fogo
For he does not accept wrong, rejects sinPois não aceita o errado, rejeita o pecado
Lives in unity, always in prayerVive em união, sempre em oração
Does not live in conflict, his example is Christ, my Glorious KingNão vive em conflito, seu exemplo é Cristo, meu Rei Glorioso

Be baptized with fire, renewed with fireSeja batizado com fogo, renovado com fogo
Revived with fire, with Spirit and with fireAvivado com fogo, com Espírito e com fogo
Feel the fire descend, let it burn the fireSinta descer o fogo, deixa queimar o fogo
It is God present here among this peopleÉ Deus presente aqui no meio desse povo
If you want His presence and to see God workSe queres a presença e ver Deus operar
And in the midst of the people God leave a signE no meio do povo Deus um sinal deixar
If you want to see the fire burn over your life, you must have an altarSe queres ver o fogo queimar sobre tua vida, tem que ter altar

In this church there is fire, on the altar there is fireNesta igreja tem fogo, no altar tem fogo
