The Soul Reaper

A shadow moves in the pale moonlight
A scythe of stars cuts through the night
It doesn’t call, it doesn’t plead
But takes the soul with ruthless speed

Its steps are silent, its gaze is cold
The reaper’s tale is timeless, old
No door can bar, no lock can hold
The keeper of death, the hand untold

Each soul it touches, it carries far
Beyond the Sun, past every star
It whispers secrets, it shows the way
To lands where shadows rule the day

Yet some will fight, and some will run
But all must face what can’t be undone
For life is fleeting, a fleeting flame
And death will call you, just the same

Through endless skies, the soul takes flight
Into the vast, eternal night
And as it leaves, the reaper grins
Another dance, another sin
