En la sombría Navidad, un establo bastó,In the bleak midwinter a stable place sufficed

El buey y el asno y el camello que adoran.The ox and ass and camel which adore.

Ángeles y arcángeles pueden haberse reunido allí,Angels and archangels may have gathered there,
Querubines y serafines llenaron el aire;Cherubim and seraphim thronged the air;
Pero solo su madre, en su dicha virginal,But his mother only, in her maiden bliss,
Adoró al amado con un beso.Worshipped the beloved with a kiss.
