Cold Blue Light

I awoke on the couch
With the cold blue light upon me
All alone in this house
Awaiting your return
I can still smell your perfume
And I kinda like it now

There was little left unsaid
And you gave me your best wishes
Now I've got an empty and unmade bed
And a house full of dirty dishes

When I'm sleeping, this world disappears
When I am with you, there's nothing to fear
But when I'm without you, I live in the shadows and space
To take me away from this place

I pull off the covers
I rolled up the blinds
I went to the kitchen
I put on the kettle
I sat at the table
And stared out the window
I can still smell your perfume
And I kinda like it now
