Lady Liberties Blues

I can’t remember the last time I got myself in this much trouble.
Its been, at the very least, a couple of years.
I walk around with her name always on the tip of my tongue.
And her laughter ringing loud in my ears.
I dont know if I’ve ever been pointed this far downward.
Like a dog without a bone and without a clue.
I'm no stranger to misreading, but I’ve got the strangest feeling that she feels the same things, too

Shes hold the torch like a guiding light
So high into the sky in the night.
I dont know if I should flee, or if I should fight.
But ill surely die if I can make her mine.

I guess I was about 22 when I gave up on being jealous
But lately I’ve been feeling just like a kid.
I’m sick of always knowing just where shes always going.
Where shes been.

What she did.
