Bluebird day

I know it’s the weekend
But I don’t feel like going out
Maybe it’s my age
But probably it’s something else

Sinatra died on my birthday
That can’t be good luck
She said stop being so morbid
Won’t you at least try to have a little fun

So I’m looking for a bluebird day
A little change
But there’s something I can’t shake
Can I be alone
And get a little stoned
Without thinking of the last decade

Maybe with time
I’ll be refined
But that’ll come with age
Still I can’t
No I can’t let it go

Last night someone stole my bike
Today my novel was panned
The worlds not against me no
It just doesn’t give a damn

She said one day you’re just a pair of shoes
Hanging from a telephone wire
Might as well get scuffed up
Muddy and leave this world tired

So I’m hoping for a bluebird day
A little change
But there’s something I can’t shake
